our journey 24 years of automation
2000
the start
Dan Heiling established Heitek Automation in Phoenix, Arizona in the year 2000. The company initially operated from a 1,000 sq. foot facility north of Phoenix. With just two employees, Heitek Automation began offering support for a few product lines, including Tolomatic, Yamaha Robotics, Polyconn, and Camozzi.
Even today, the company continues to provide support to some of these product lines.
2002
KEY ACQUISITION
In 2002, Heitek acquired Porter’s Fluid Power and merged offices with the Porter’s location near 32nd Avenue and Thomas Roads. The combined company now had eight employees and gained new product lines, such as MAC Valves, through the acquisition. Soon after, PHD & Bimba selected Heitek as their channel partners.
By joining the MDN, the company brought together several product lines, contributing to its growth and development into what you see today.
2006
VALUE ADDED
By 2006, Heitek established a value-add department to provide customers with kitting and assembly services. As the company grew, we required more space and subsequently moved our headquarters near 7th Street and Deer Valley. For the next 12 years, we operated from that location, expanding our services to include an entire engineering department.
This development allowed us to offer design engineering services and manufacturing capabilities and also led to the opening of our control panel shop during the UL 508 era. Furthermore, the engineering department helped us enter new markets, enabling us to add electrical control systems to our array of offerings in 2007.
2012
OPPORTUNITY AWAITS
During the economic recession in 2009, we saw new opportunities to improve our business. We were able to expand our line-up by adding new sensors and vision lines. In 2011, we expanded our facility to 9,000 square feet and exceeded 25 employees by 2015. That same year, we introduced a major controls line which allowed us to offer new solutions and capabilities to our customers.
2015
WELCOME, SIEMENS!
In August 2015, we experienced two record years of growth and by 2018 we had moved to a new facility that spanned 18,000 square feet near Rose Garden and 19th Avenue. This move allowed us to expand our warehouse, engineering, and value-added space, which in turn helped us better support our customers.
After the move, we welcomed Siemens onto our team. Being one of the largest controls suppliers in the world, the addition of Siemens gave us unparalleled capability and an even better offering for our customers.
2019
4 CORNER EXPANSION
Heitek expanded its customer reach by opening branches and stocking facilities in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Golden, Colorado, and Sandy, Utah.
Additionally, the company welcomed FESTO to its team, one of the largest suppliers of pneumatic and electrical automation technology in the world.
2021
PANEL SHOP ADDITION
In 2021, Heitek acquired Serpentix Panel Shop and grew our team to 80 employees.
2022
SIGNIFICANT GROWTH
In 2022, they acquired Beta Tron and relocated their AZ location to a 43,000-square-foot facility! Heitek expanded to two facilities in Colorado, a 5,000-square-foot one in Golden and a 10,000-square-foot one in Westminster. Furthermore, they expanded their territory to cover Las Vegas.
