Heitek and OurKaravan have partnered together to offer a kit version of the 80/20 kitchen galley framing. All aluminum profiles have been cut to size, milled for fasteners, and all hardware needed to assemble the galley are boxed and shipped to your door. Also included is a simple instruction manual (see related documents below) to aid in the assembly of the kit.
This kit is exactly the same as found in our OurKaravan Galley Cabinet Build, with two exceptions. First, the galley has been deepened from 20 inches to 22 inches. This allows for deeper drawers, a larger sink, and accommodates different styles of refrigerator mounting. Second, the assembly hardware has been changed from L-brackets to 80/20 anchor fasteners. This increases the strength of the connection, eases assembly, and reduces cost. The added side benefit is the elimination of two 80/20 profiles that were needed in the original OurKaravan galley due to the use of angle brackets.

You’ll have this kit assembled before you could assemble a jig and set stops for milling your own fasteners. The price of the kit does not include shipping to your location.
Requesting Modifications:
The OurKaravan galley can be slightly modified to fit your needs. The current galley is modeled around the excellent Isotherm Cruise 130 Elegance (“Cruise 130 EL”) refrigerator. If you desire a different sized refrigerator, it requires modification of the length of only two profiles which will change the cost. The Isotherm 130EL measures 29.6″ high, 20.7″ wide, and 19.4″ deep, per the manufacturer. The refrigerator bay of the OurKaravan galley is 21-3/4″ wide. If you are requesting different dimensions be sure to leave a minimum of 3/8″ buffer on each side of the refrigerator’s width specification. You must specify the exact dimension you want to add or subtract from the current design. Please note, nearly every refrigerator has different dimensions, including different versions of the Isotherm 130-series.
The depth of the galley can be changed by altering the length of the eleven “J” profiles and one “I” profile. They are currently 19″ long making for a total galley depth of 22″. Adding or subtracting from the 19″ will change the depth. These modifications are performed at your risk.
Galley Assembly:
Assembly is very straight-forward. Simply layout the aluminum profiles using the instructions, insert the fasteners, and tighten with an Allen wrench. There are 26 aluminum profiles that require assembly. Watch our OurKaravan Galley Assembly Video HERE. The only required tools include an 6mm Allen wrench. We recommend these ball-end Allen wrenches (HERE) also found on the Heitek Store to make assembly easier.
